16 of our most committed volunteers endured a below zero morning up at Coronet Forest to complete their chainsaw competency course. That snow dump a few days before didn’t help with the temperature.
Most of these volunteers already have their chainsaw qualifications but are required to attend a refresher course every 3 years. Doing this allows these volunteers to use a chainsaw on DoC and QLDC land.
This is particularly handy when WCG are in the field hosting a wilding pine volunteer cutting session.
We always come across slightly larger wilding pines that need to be felled by a chainsaw.
A truly commendable effort by these WCG members who have an invested interest in the wide spread conifer problem. Thank you for your support.
