Let’s talk about the proposed tree removal in Kelvin Heights.
WCG is with Queenstown Lakes District Council and Whakatipu Reforestation Trust.
Kelvin Heights can be a windy area and wilding seeds are being cast across neighbouring properties, their light seed flies much further to threaten the Whakatipu Lake edge and likely both the Remarkables Conservation Area and Cecil Peak. Any wins we have to progressively eliminate wildings at Kelvin Heights while enhancing the planting of non-wilding species is positive – itβs an opportunity to control another area of the wilding jigsaw puzzle before costs further escalate.
Please support the removal of these pines which are creating wilding spread!
